Electronic signatures and certificates

Electronic signatures created through the Sign service comply with the eIDAS Regulation. As a result, they remain legally valid across the entire EU.

Advanced (AdES) and Qualified (QES) electronic signatures generated via the Sign service directly link to the signer’s identity. In particular, they rely on strong remote identification and follow strict security and data protection standards defined by the eIDAS Regulation.

Signatures created through the Sign service thus carry a high level of credibility, especially in the context of potential legal proceedings and the need to prove the authenticity of the signature.

The Sign service also issues signing certificates to users. For example, a user can obtain a one-time certificate for creating a Simple Electronic Signature (SES). Alternatively, they may request a long-term certificate (valid for 5 years) to create an Advanced Electronic Signature (AdES), or a long-term certificate (valid for 2 years) to create a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES). Finally, the system stores all signing certificates securely in the user’s digital Identyum ID Wallet.
